TEMPUS International Meeting on the Social Dimension of Higher Education, 29. september 2011
International
School for Social and Business Studies in collaboration with
the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology from 28 to 29 September
hosted an international meeting in the framework of the European TEMPUS
project (Towards Equitable and Transparent Access to Higher Education
in Croatia) on the social dimension in higher education.
This
was one of the first such events in Slovenia, which tried
to completely and objectively present the social dimension of higher
education in Slovenia. The
contributions have been presented by experts and representatives of
various institutions who with their work help shape Slovenian and Croatian
higher education area, including:
- dr. Meta Dobnikar, Head of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology,
- Simona Zagorc, Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs,
- Tomislav Vodička, Croatia Ministry of Science, Education and Sport,
- Neža Pajnič, Head of Tertiary Education, Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Education and Training Programmes,
- Neli Dimc, Head of International Office, Faculty of Social Science
- Katja Esih, Director of Regional Study Centre in Celje
- Rok
Primožič, member of the Executive Board of the European Student Union.
The
main objective of the meeting was to present a clear and realistic picture, both
on national policies, the role and importance of variety of
responsible and competent institutions, as well as activities and
results in a fully operational level - the level of student.
