Dr. Janez Šušteršič, Associate Professor
Janez Šušteršič holds a PhD from the University of Ljubljana. He was a director of the Institute for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development and Vice President of the Committee for Economic Policy of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (Ecofin). He was also a deputy head of the Reform Committee which prepared a proposal for economic and social reforms for the Slovenian government, and one of the founding members of the Slovenian Macroeconomic Forum (SMF).
His areas of expertise are institutional economics, public choice theory and political economy. He deals with issues of institutional transition and macroeconomic and structural policy making in their wider social context, i.e. in terms of interests and activities of various social actors who can influence the decisions of economic policy makers in a democratic society.
