Dr. Mihaela Zavašnik Arčnik, Assistant Professor

Mihaela Zavašnik Arčnik works for the National School of Leadership in Education. Before that, she was a primary and secondary school teacher and an assistant for English didactics at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. She is a professor of English and German, and she completed her Master's and doctoral studies at the University of Ljubljana. In her doctoral dissertation she dealt with the ​​professional development of education professionals. She is a member of numerous national and international associations and projects, a member of the editorial board of the journal Leadership in Education, and a head of the self-evaluation team in the frames of the national project Designing and Introducing the System of Quality Assessment and Assurance in Education. The fields of her research and publications are the professional development of education professionals and leadership in education, with the focus on the development of teacher's skills, needs analysis, leadership for learning, and self-evaluation as an instrument for quality.
