Programme description
University undergraduate study programme Economy in Contemporary Society offers students interdisciplinary knowledge in the fields of economics, business, management, organizational sciences, informatics, technologies, communications, ethics and foreign languages. It focuses on economics and represents basic knowledge with a help of methodological tools which enable research and application of information as well as analysis of causes and consequences of economic policies, business decisions, society and behaviour.
Programme Economy in Contemporary Society provides students with complete understanding of contemporary society and functioning of organizations, as well as skills needed for dealing with contemporary and global challenges. As a result, graduates of this programme are employable in public and private organizations, and well equipped for successful continuation of studies on a postgraduate level.
This study programme is internationally comparable and includes guest lectures of local, national and international field experts and lecturers.

Modes of study
Students of this study programme can choose between full-time and part-time studies.
Full-time studies are carried out every weekday in the morning and in the afternoon.
Part-time studies are especially designed for employed students. Lectures are carried out on weekdays in the afternoons. Students usually attend only one or two courses in the same time period. Each course is carried out in a form of weekly sessions for a period of 1-2 months.
Full-time studies comprise the number of contact hours defined by the study programme.
Part-time studies comprise at least 40% of contact hours defined by the study programme.

Tuition fee
Full-time studies are financed from the State Budget and therefore free of charge for students. Part-time students have to pay a tuition fee which is expected to be 1.950,00 euro in the academic year 2012/2013. They can pay the fee in five instalments.
