ReSouk 2010

In 2010, the International School for Social and Business Studies (ISSBS) was involved in the international conference EMUNI Research Souk with active participation of its students and professors through an online video conference. ISSBS students participated at the conference's student forum where they presented their contribution, which was published in the conference proceedings.

The EMUNI Research Souk is a student research conference, where participants are encouraged to present their contributions and projects on the priorities of the Union for the Mediterranean (e.g. higher education and research, the Euro-Mediterranean University, the Mediterranean Business Development Initiative).

The Research Souk 2010 entitled "Living Together in the Multi-cultural Society" focused on the issues of coexistence of different peoples and cultures in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The region is an area of continuous development and intensive cultural, economic and political interaction between peoples of different cultural, ethnic and religious origin, which is why the main purpose of the conference was to highlight and contribute to their coexistence. The conference was held at various partner faculties of the Euro-Mediterranean University, including the ISSBS. It started with live broadcasting from Egypt in which the president of the EMUNI University welcomed all participants. Guests included the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education, President of the Alexandria University, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandria and Director of the Anna Lindh Foundation.

In the institutional part of the conference, members of the ISSBS's academic staff (Lect. Mag. Valerij Dermol, Lect. Suzana Košir, Prof. Soc. and Geo., Assist. Prof. Dr. Kristijan Musek Lešnik and Assist. Igor Srdoč) presented their contributions. Their presentations were followed by the presentation of ISSBS students' (Rok Švab, Tamara Novak, Sanela Duraković, Slavica Gavrič, Barbara Ramšak and Sara Rančan) contribution entitled "Trend of Eco-brand in Savinjska region".
