Dr. Andrej Koren, Associate Professor

Andrej Koren graduated in history and geography from the Academy of Education in Maribor, and in sociology from the Faculty of Sociology, Political Science and Journalism, University of Ljubljana. He holds a Master's degree and a PhD in leadership in education from the Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He was a primary and secondary school teacher, a head teacher of a primary school in Maribor (for 17 years), and has been the director of the National School of Leadership in Education since 1995. He is the coordinator of the courses Leadership in Education and Theories of Educational Organisations at the Faculty of Management Koper, University of Primorska.

   
He manages various Slovenian and international projects and studies in the field of leadership in education, and is a member of several international scientific associations. His spare time activities include playing basketball, hiking and skiing.
